This was more disappointing than even I had expected. I'll post the charts as soon as I figure out how to post pictures. Anyway, here are the numbers:
Run #1
175.0 whp
134.9 lb-ft
Run #3
178.4 whp
137.7 lb-ft
We tightened the sc'r belt between runs #1 and #3. On run #3, I hit maximum whp at 7200 rpm, and then it steadily dropped. At 8200 rpm, I was at 170.8 whp. We hooked up a boost gauge to the manifold and found that I'm making 4 lbs of boost, peaking very briefly at 5 lbs. I talked with a few guys afterwards to field some guesses as to why I'm not making much more power than a STOCK N/A ITR. I've known all along that I'm not making the power that I should, and today confirms my worst fears. I'm going to wait a day or so to cool off before I call JR, so any input you guys have is appreciated.

why not (as always) give us a complete list of mods on the R ... ?

Isn't 5psi about right for the ITR kit?
Anyway, if JR promises bolt on power you should be pissed.
I originally had 5psi on by b16 (because of an underdrive pulley). You didn't list any sort of fuel controller, but without mine I would've been missing 23hp at the same 5psi. Wasn't recommend by JR, but made the real difference on the dyno.

For the most part, I ran a consistent 4 lbs of boost, only hitting 5psi for the briefest moment.
Even though I went into today expecting the worst, after hearing story after story of ITRs having problems with the jrsc, I am very disappointed.
Jackson Racing's website posts a dyno chart of a sc'd typeR at 215.5whp with the base kit, plus the regular JR fuel pump and short ram intake. I have the JR intake, the upgraded fuel pump, plus the JR BTC. There is a gap of 37 whp between my car and JR's dyno chart. I'm not even getting near the usual 185-195whp that other "disappointed" ITR owners seem to get. Something is seriously wrong.
I don't want this to turn into a JR-bashing thread. However, I would really like to hear everyone's opinion here before I call JR to see if they can help. For now, I'll stay optimistic and look at the bright side...er...well...at least this explains my horrible 1/4mi times!!!

you still have not given us a complete list of mods to the car...
seems like this may be an installation problem, such as not enough fuel, kinked line, timing, bad injector/pump, detonation, maybe cam gears if set wrong (remember, the ITR is aa worse platform, stock, for FI due to cam timing and valve overlap and higher CR).

Personally that sounds about right. DSR got 191 on a stock ITR with stock fuel system. But that was a total freak of nature! 666 should know since it was his charger that's now in that car! LOL. Anyway, I would recommend hooking up a wide band O2 sensor and seeing what it reads. As for JR, well they will just tell you to bring your car down, and they will look at it! Then they will dyno it, and say your hitting above 200whp. Then when you come back up to your normal dyno place and dyno it, it will read in the 180's. You have to take into account the differences in dyno's, and computers. A 15+whp difference is impossible. Almost every type R that's JRSC'd hits in the 180's stock. Then with an in and out system in will be in the mid-low 190s. As for your car, I do think that seems semi-low since you have a BTC, and J&S to help tune. I think with some good tuning with the J&S, BTC, FPR, with a wide band O2, you should hit around mid-low 190whp. I hope that helps. To make you feel better heres a copy of my very first dyno with tons of mods, and the JRSC!
The plot shows my runs from a couple months back. Now I'm hitting 203whp with stock header, and bad MSD. Hopefully after this new device I try, I will hit good numbers! I hope!
That proves how much good tuning matters! After lots of tuning I'm over 200whp.

Vactor: Thanks for your suggestions. Here's a more complete list of mods on my car:
5.5lb JRSC
upgraded Walbro fuel pump
JR short ram intake
J&S (set at 9 o'clock) - reports minimal tip- in detonation, but no retard under WOT
JR BTC (running stock 16 deg. timing, with
BTC set to retard 3/10 of a degree per
pound of boost)
92 octane
everything else is OEM
My J&S a/f monitor reads rich at WOT and stoich under normal conditions, so that probably rules out fuel delivery problems. I'm running timing at 16 BTDC. I get minimal tip-in detonation; the J&S takes out maybe 2-3 degrees on occasion, but no deton. under WOT. I think I ruled out all the possible problems you suggested. Keep the suggestions coming, though, b/c there is definitely something wrong here.
Mike: I thought you'd get a kick out of my dyno results. At least I know I'm not alone. I'm told that maybe I should get the v-afc (I know it didn't work very well for you) or the cartech fmu, and also some adjustable cam gears. But, I don't want to add more variables to the equation before I figure out what the problem is. To be honest, I'd jump for joy if tuning alone would get me close to 200whp.

I could never get a kick out of someone being disappointed at a dyno result. Heck you should have saw my face when I hit 151-155whp! And everyone at the time thought I had a bad engine, cuz JR's numbers are so high. Then after serious tuning, and talked to other JRSC ITR owners, I found out the base is around 175-188whp stock with the JRSC. The VAFC should help on your car. The reason it didn't help on mine, was because my unit was defective. So I now have the S-AFC with no problems. Yet for some reason I hit 4-5whp higher from 3000-7500rpms. So I guess the VAFC is good aslong as it works. Anyway, I would totally find out your air/fuel ratio on a wide band O2. It will remove the fog in your head, because it will show whats causing you to hit so low. Get back on a dyno, find out your air/fuel ratio, tune the car so the ratio is perfect, then see the results. If they seem low, then try some thing else. If you can't tune the band good, then try using a air/fuel controller (VAFC, SAFC, etc...) If the band looks good then don't bother with a controller. As for cam gears, they make a slight difference. I only got a couple of whp gain from them. The major trick with our cars is to get a prefect air/fuel ratio, with high timing, and no pinging or detonation! Also having a exhaust system (Kamekaze header, test pipe, and 2.5-3" exhaust) will help ALOT!!!!! I think if you tune it right, and add a exhaust system listed above you should hit nice numbers. (maybe 200whp)
To ease your mind, I wasn't gonna say anything about this, but I will be trying a computer thats designed for JRSC type R's. The computer got a 208whp JRSC ITR (with 8psi) to hit 238whp! The VTEC is set to kick in at 4600rpms, and the timing, air/fuel curve is redone. The cost for the Computer is said to be around $450 (You send yours in, they program it, and send it back overnight) I wont say who's making this computer yet (cuz its in testing stage), but I will forsure let everyone know how it goes.
